Let us answer some of the questions you might have.
Am I eligible?
To apply to Greasepaint, you need to be at least 18 years old with good eyesight and normal colour vision. If you have any prior or existing medical condition(s), please be sure to tell us before starting your course. There is no upper age limit.
Can I get help with the fees?
Many of our students fund their training with a Professional and Career Development Loan. These are bank loans that can be used to help pay for work related learning. For further information on financial assistance (and to explore other funding options before taking out a commercial loan), please visit the National Careers Service or contact Careers Advice on 0800 100 900. They may ask for our Learning Provider Registration Number, which is 1699.
We accept payment by credit or debit card through either google checkout (when you enrol online), or by ringing our office on 020 8840 6000.
Are any previous qualifications or experience required?
No. Our courses start with the basics and work up.
If you are already a hairdresser and doing our TV, Film and Theatre training, you may feel you don't need to take learn hair cutting. However, many hairdressers still benefit from taking this part of the course because we cover several period cuts. We can cater for your greater experience by giving you more challenging assignments!

What's included in the price?
All we ask is that you provide your own notebook and pen for note-taking. Everything else you need is included.
Included in the price of our TV, Film and Theatre Course and Fashion Training are full make-up and hair kits which you can keep afterwards. The 1-week airbrushing course includes a compressor and airbrush. The provision of models (as required) is included.
What do I get at the end?
When you have satisfactorily completed one of our courses you will be awarded either the Greasepaint Film, TV and Theatre Make-up & Hair Certificate, the Greasepaint Further Prosthetics Certificate, the Greasepaint Fashion Make-up & Hair Certificate and the Greasepaint Airbrushing Certificate. Our certificates are recognised throughout the industry.
What are the teaching hours?
All modules run from 9.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Do you provide accommodation?
We don't have accommodation on site, but when you register we can provide you with a list of accommodation nearby.
Do we have models?
For some sessions models are provided and for the remaining time students work on each other.
What is the tutor/student ratio?
Our teacher to student ratio is between 1:4 and 1:8 depending on the activity.
What about work after the course?
We have our own Agency providing work experience for our recent graduates, and paid work for the more experienced.
