Welcome to Greasepaint Make Up School
Based in London, our 30 years' experience of running professional makeup courses
has produced some of the top film and fashion makeup artists in the industry.
Their hard work and success has built our reputation.
Our former students are credited on BAFTA and Oscar-winning films - for example,
Mandy Gold ('The Young Victoria'), Louise Coles ('Moon'), Ivana Primorac
('The Reader'), and, for 'Slumdog Millionaire', Virginia Holmes. In TV this year,
our former student Lucy Cain was BAFTA-nominated for The Impression Show
with Culshaw & Stephenson. And graduates of our fashion make-up course work
on leading publications such as Vogue, for catwalk shows, and as personal make-up
artists to celebrities.
After your training (and at no extra cost) we provide vital hands-on work experience
through our close links with the industry. You can read about one student's experience

Christine Vidler, who was assisted by a 20-strong team of former students ..
The best trainers and facilities
All our makeup courses are taught by experienced specialist makeup and hair tutors. Most are BBC-trained and work freelance in the industry. Recent visiting specialists include Neill Gorton of Millenium FX, Vicky Voller of the BBC's Holby City, make-up artist Kate Benton, prosthetic make-up artist Stuart Bray and 2010 BAFTA winner Chrissie Baker. Materials and equipment on all our courses are state of the art, including a high definition camera and monitor for viewing makeups on camera. Any kit (and compressor) included with your course is yours to keep.
Your makeup training ..
Our Makeup courses are highly intensive and tightly structured, providing excellent value
for money, with excellent teaching ratios of no more than 8 students to 1 tutor
and fully inclusive of all necessary materials. For example, the kit provided to students on
our 7-week TV, Film and Theatre course is worth over £700. The brands used here at
Greasepaint include MAC, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, Chanel, Clinique, YSL,
Benefit, Ben Nye, Kryolan, Charles Fox and L'Oreal. You are welcome to come back
and practice your skills after the course has finished, again at no extra cost.
