Choosing your Make-up and Hair course is an important decision - you need consider how long you want to spend training, and whether you want to specialise in a particular area of work (to find out more please have a look at our "Make-up as a Career" page or come along to one of our Open Days).


Please note that to apply for one of our make up courses you need to be at least 18 years old. We suggest good eyesight and normal colour vision are also important. (There is no upper age limit.) On completion of your Makeup or Hair course, you will be awarded the relevant Greasepaint Certificate. Our certificates are recognised throughout the industry.


Greasepaint offers a range of courses of varying lengths:

• Greasepaint 20-week 5* Programme - including two make-up and two hair kits and an airbrushing compressor
  This is a comprehensive make-up and hair training course which combines our courses in 14-week TV, Film & Theatre make-up, hair and prosthetics with our 5-week Fashion/Photographic makeup training and our 1-week Airbrushing Makeup Course (all courses are listed below).
  
  
• 14-week TV, Film & Theatre make-up, hair and prosthetics course - including make-up and hair kits
  Our training for TV, Film & Theatre Make-up Artists is suitable for those with little or no professional experience, as well as hairdressers and those who have previously trained in fashion make-up and now wish to extend their skills.
  
  
• 5-week Fashion/Photographic course - including make-up and hair kits
  Our fashion make-up training is suitable for those with little or no professional experience in this area, or more experienced make-up artists wishing to learn fashion techniques. Our other Fashion courses include a 1-week Fashion Hair Skills course, or a 3-week Fashion Make-up Skills course.
  
  
• NEW: It is also possible to take our complete Fashion/Photographic course part-time over 10 weekends (Saturday and Sunday), one a month, from October to July.
  
  
• 1-week Airbrushing Makeup - including compressor and airbrush
  This is a training in Airbrushing techniques for making up the face, body, hair and nails. A professional compressor and airbrush are included in the price. We suggest it would suit you best if you are already working as a make up artist or if you have taken a previous makeup course.
  
  
• Private lessons in Makeup, Hair, Airbrushing, Prosthetics
  Courses can be arranged as required. For example, some students cover the content of one of our key courses listed above (for example, 5-week Fashion Makeup and Hair course) on a one-to-one basis, part-time.
