Welcome to Greasepaint School of Film, Television, Theatre and Fashion Makeup. Based in London,
our 30 years' experience of running professional makeup courses has produced some of the top makeup artists in the industry today. The designers of the Oscar-winning films, 'The Reader' (Ivana Primorac) and 'Slumdog Millionaire' (Virginia Holmes) were both trained here. Our Makeup courses have a worldwide reputation that has been built on the success and hard work of our past students, many of whom continue to recommend Greasepaint as an excellent place to train as a Make Up Artist. Please come along to an Open Day to talk to current students and tutors, see demonstrations of Makeup, Hair, Prosthetics and Airbrushing, and find out more about our Film, TV, Theatre and Fashion Makeup training.
Our Makeup and Hair courses include:Makeup, Hair, Wigs & Prosthetics for High Definition TV, Film and Theatre with make-up/hair kits - 14 week
This course also includes basic fashion make-up and bridal make-up skills & an airbrushing demonstration - it is also possible to take this as a 10-week Makeup and Hair course without prosthetics
Fashion Makeup and Hair with make-up/hair kits - 5 weeks (or part-time over 10 weekends)
Alternatively, we also offer a 3-week Fashion Makeup Skills course or a 1-week Fashion Hair Skills course
Airbrushing including compressor/kit (1 week)
5* Programme with kits/compressor - 20 weeks comprising all the above
The best trainers and facilities
All our makeup courses are taught by experienced specialist makeup and hair tutors. Most are BBC-trained and work freelance in the industry. (Our current visiting specialists include Neill Gorton of Millenium FX.) Materials and equipment on all our courses are state of the art, including a high definition camera and monitor for viewing makeups on camera. Any kit (and compressor) included with your course is yours to keep.
Your makeup course .. and afterwards
Our Makeup courses are highly intensive and tightly structured, providing excellent value for money. You are welcome to come back and practice your skills after the course has finished, at no extra cost. After your training (again at no extra cost) we provide vital hands-on work experience through our close links with the industry. Many of the students on our courses use career development loans to fund their Makeup Artist training.
